About Daughters of Haiti

Daughters of Haiti is a nonprofit organization led by first- and second-generation Haitian women, committed to empowering women through culture, leadership, wellness, and community connection. Our work centers Haitian identity while creating spaces for growth, dialogue, and collective care.

Our Why

Our mission is to uplift Haitian women by fostering leadership, preserving culture, and strengthening community through education, wellness initiatives, and shared experiences rooted in Haitian heritage.

To preserve, sustain, and perpetuate Haitian culture and community through our four pillars:
Fellowship
Scholarship
Public Service
Education

How we do it

We are committed to building strong connections within the Haitian community, promoting academic excellence, engaging in meaningful service, and sharing our cultural heritage to inspire and educate future generations.

Helping Hands for Haiti

Our organization participates in various events through out the Chicago-land area, supporting charities and organizations whose purpose is to give back to Haiti and Haitians abroad.

This includes:

Service work to Haitian Community, locally and in Haiti.

Sponsorship and fundraising for designated causes Local community awareness programs.

Health and Social Service resources.

Career assistance for Underrepresented community members.

Annual Mothers & Daughters Luncheon

Annual opportunity for aunts, daughters, mothers, and grandmothers to come together and share their experiences as Haitian women.

Connect generations of women to fellowship.

Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit a Haitian charitable cause each year.

Celebrate Haitian heritage and culture.

This event is held in the month of March, prior to Flag day season.

Invite your mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and nieces, to an event filled with generations of beautiful Haitian women in fellowship, while raising funds for causes that impact the Haitian community.

Le Bal Bleu et Rouge: Annual Gala

Le Bal Bleu et Rouge is a night of heritage, dinner, and dancing. The ball brings out Chicago’s Haitian community and along with the supporters and allies of Haitians everywhere. It not only allows us to be patriotic, but also educates and shares Haiti’s rich history, and celebrates the beauty of our perseverance.

Most importantly, this event will help make possible true and lasting change in the lives of young girls and women in Haiti.
